While eBird provides amazing data tools and analytics, I have always been intrigued by the idea of what else can be done with the data. I have been playing with my own eBird data to see patterns on locations that I have frequented the most, species groups that are most prevalent, effort across months and how the year has evolved. And I would love to share it with the birding community from whom I have learned so much. To get insights into your eBird data, download your data from eBird → Download My Data, and drop the MyEBirdData.csv file below, choose a date range and the regions you want to analyze, and the page will do the rest. This page works locally on your machine, nothing is uploaded anywhere, the file is read inside your own browser and disappears when you close the tab or refresh the page. You can download a summary PDF if you want while you are on the page. Hope this little experiment brings you a little joy.
